Farm land is harder and harder to come by. On Vancouver island, where we produce less than 2% of the food we consume. More and more precious farm land is purchased by those who can afford it and never used to grow food. However, the crown land that surrounds our towns and cities is often ideal for growing, having already been cleared by logging. It is our hope that we can connect farmers with these lands for little or no charge. Our advocates apply for land lease tenures so that we can use crown land for growing, utilizing this public space in a responsible, sustainable and productive way.
